Ever Wondered Where The Event Carpet Entrance Started?

The History of the Red Carpet entrance is a symbol of welcome. Originally, it was used to honour heads of state as they walked down the crimson carpet or path toward their thrones.  The red carpets were also placed up steps to a throne or where sacred figures were adorned.

Later, the red carpet was used to greet the arrival of world leaders from their aeroplanes. Passengers were directed to board trains as they walked the crimson carpet in the 1920s when railroads controlled most long-distance ground transportation. This is when the phrase “The Red Carpet Treatment” is said to have been coined.

The red carpet was used for film premiers in the 1920s to create a spectacular entrance for famous actors and actresses. At this time, the red carpet treatment and Hollywood were linked.

• Hire a Paparazzi Party Backdrop for your event entrance.
• Place a 3-metre red carpet horizontally in front of the backdrop or add an evem longer carpet from the entrance doors in the length of 6m, 9m or 12m.
• To complete the scene place red ropes with bollards/stands on either side of the carpet. These gold or chrome stanchions are positioned roughly 1 metre apart to create a perfect red carpet entrance.
